We like a good coffee here at Kina Beach Vineyard and if we don’t make our own, we like it to be somewhere nice. Below is our local tips on the best coffee shops in Nelson.
Alberta’s – Māpua Wharf – whenever we come here for coffee, we feel we are on a holiday. As it happens they also make an amazing brunch and are famous for their pastries. www.albertas.co.nz
Bloom Cafe – 208 High Street, Motueka – hidden away behind the old church, Bloom Cafe has a super romantic courtyard, a very unexpected treat off the hustle and bustle of High Street. www.bloomcafemotueka.co.nz
Coastal Coffee Cart – Motueka Marina – get your coffee fix while watching the boats go in and out of Motueka Marina. Only a dry weather option, but what a location! www.facebook.com/coastalcoffeenz
Tasman General Store – Tasman – very popular with cyclists doing the trail, you can have your coffee in the garden of the General Store right next to where Lance is roasting his next batch of beans. Kiwi coffee culture at its best.
Deville’s – 22 New Street – Nelson – with a funky courtyard in Nelson CBD, Deville offers one of the most relaxed spots for a coffee in town during the day and loads of good music at night. www.devillecafe.nz
The Kitchen – 111 Bridge Street – Nelson – perfect for a coffee and some people watching before or after a visit to the fabulous Wednesday Farmer’s Market. www.ktch.co.nz
The Suter Café – 208 Bridge Street – Nelson – this one is a bit of a secret because most people don’t think coffee and art gallery in the same sentence. Adjacent to Queen’s Gardens, you get three for one: art gallery, botanical garden and fantastic coffee. www.thesuter.org.nz/cafe
