Local Attractions

Kina Peninsula is tucked away in the curve of the glittering Tasman Bay. It slopes down from a 60 metre high cliff to the beach and offers expansive blue-water views across Tasman Bay, flanked by the golden beaches of Abel Tasman National Park to the north, with Nelson, French Pass and D’Urville Island to the east.

At high tide, the warm waters of Tasman Bay sweep around the Peninsula over the sandy, sheltered Moutere Inlet that provides opportunities for swimming, boating and water skiing. It is home to a diverse array of sea and plant life and at low tide, you can easily admire the natural marine environment.

Thanks to its privileged location, Kina Beach Vineyard offers breath-taking views across the Tasman Bay as well as the beautiful tidal inlet. Not spoiled enough already, well there is more on offer: the famous Kaiteriteri Beach, the world renowned Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks. Do you need more? The Tasman Golf Club is a 9 hole golf course nearby. We can also recommend local art, markets, places to eat and anything else you may want to do.

Kina exudes a private, rural ambience, which belies its proximity to cultural and urban life: 35 minutes away from Nelson, the gateway to the North and South Islands and a buzzing town offering an array of craft shops, cafes and restaurants amid unmatched cultural diversity.

The Tasman district is famed for its fabulous climate, for exhilarating outdoor activities, stunning scenery, boutique vineyards and wineries and for amazing artistic and cultural amenities.

But to get started, enjoy a walk along Kina Beach, which is only 250 metres from Kina Beach Vineyard. Feel the warmth radiated by the impressive cliffs in the sun and beach-comb scores of sea-shells including Kinas left behind by the tide.
